The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating and honoring the life of Alma Teresa (Tarango) Paez, 66, of Enid will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 5, 2026 in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Mason officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Alma was born October 15, 1959, to Manuel and Gregoria (Ortiz) Tarango in Chihuahua, Mexico and passed from this life April 29, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Chihuahua. After graduating from High school, she began working in the accounting department in the healthcare industry. She moved to Oklahoma in 1981. She married Juan Manuel Paez in 1984 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and from this union came two children, Denise and Juan “Johnny”. The family moved to Enid in 1991. She worked at St. Mary’s Regional Medical center as an exceptional CNA for twenty-eight years. She then worked in the Cafeteria at Hayes Elementary for three years until her retirement. She was a long-time member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was the most giving and caring woman; she would help absolutely anyone in any way that she was able. She enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible, watching movies at home, going on walks, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Juan Manuel Paez, of the home, one daughter Denise Velasquez, of Mustang, Oklahoma, one son, Juan Paez and wife Blanca, of Enid, four grandchildren, Aleeah, Aiden, Brooklynn, and Austin; two sisters, Margarita Molina and husband Jesus, of Chihuahua, Mexico and Bertha Garcia and husband Manuel, of Enid; one brother Efren Tarango and wife Margie, of El Paso, Texas and numerous extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Gregoria Tarango, one sister Elva Manuel Tarango, and three brothers, Cesar Tarango, Louis Tarango, and Jesus Tarango.
