Billy was born April 18, 1954, to Bill and Marlene Chance in Enid, Oklahoma and passed away peacefully, at his home in Jet, Oklahoma on Friday September 12, 2025.

Billy graduated from Enid High School in 1973. After graduation he moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to work for Rotor Rooter, a business that his best friend Randy Maher owned. While he lived there, he was a muleskinner and lead a few elk hunts in the Rocky Mountains. He married his first wife Patty Barton in 1974. Billy joined the United States Air Force in 1975 and after basic training he was a squad leader in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He then got stationed to Ogden, Utah where he honorably served his country for four years.

Billy moved back to Enid, Ok and married Joanne Pittaluga in 1988 and from this union came two daughters, Chelsea and Courtney. He worked for Great Lakes Carbon Plant for several years before moving to Arizona in 1999 so he could be close to his daughters. While living there he worked as a manager of Cycle Spectrum and for Roto Rooter.

Billy came back to Enid and worked at Luckinbill Construction as a heavy equipment operator for several years. In 2005 he moved to Jet, Ok and worked at Lariat Services, Inc. until his retirement in 2010.

He was a great musician; he played rhythm guitar and sang in several bands throughout the years. He did have two bands that he started on his own called Unit 3 and Loosely Tight. These were the best times of his life.

He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and had many throughout his lifetime. He was a talented woodworker, carpenter and mechanic. He enjoyed snow skiing, reading, co-ed softball and golfing. Most of all, Billy (Bubber/Bubba) loved his family and friends, and was always the life of the party.

He is survived by his daughters Chelsea Schuermann, of Pond Creek, Oklahoma and Courtney Henderson and her husband Shawn, of San Tan Valley, Arizona; his grandchildren, Jackson and Piper Schuermann, of Pond Creek, Ok and Huckleberry and Beau Henderson of San Tan Valley, Arizona; two sisters, Kim McClain and her husband Joe and Sherry “Lynnie” Campbell and her husband David, all of Jet, Oklahoma; and his best friend, and love of his life, “Chloe”, his Red Healer Dog; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and first wife Patty.
