The Memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Elizabeth Louise James, Schweer, Galusha, Thomason, 67, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday October 11, 2025 in the Brown-Cummings Chapel with Pastor David Jones officiating. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Liz was born to Betty Louise Fraiser and Charles James on November 16, 1957 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed from this life October 4, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised by Paul Ford Matthewson and was later adopted by Herold R. and Renata Schweer. She grew up in Covington and attended Covington High school. At the age of fifteen she left home. After forty years of searching she was elated to find her birth family who mended her heart. She worked several jobs throughout the years. While working at The Kettle she met the love of her life Albert Thomason who was persistent to win her over. The couple were married September 21, 1987, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. When she married Albert she gained three children, Irvin, Leon, and Sherrie. She had six children prior, Steve, Nicole, Shane, Shawn, Shilo, and Angie the couple adopted Micah and Jack together. She loved music and often turned it up while tending to her house. She enjoyed crafting and made Afghans and animal rugs for Sherrie and Shawn and earrings that she sold to the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders that are still popular with the grandkids today, she even owned a roofing company and roofed a two-story house. She also enjoyed working the Auction channel and writing poems.
She is survived by her husband Albert Thomason, of the home; her children, Thomas Steven, Shane Galusha, Shawn Galusha, Shilo Galusha, , Sherrie Thomason, all of Enid, and Micah Thomason, Dillon Matthewson and Jack Thomason, of the home; over forty grandchildren and over thirty great grandchildren; and her siblings, Terry, Shirley, Gail, Monica, Jerry, Paul Matthewson, of the home, and Bryan, Lora, Richard, Mary, Robert and Nancy.
She was preceded in death by all of her parents; four children, Angie Galusha, Nicole Galusha, Irvin Thomason, Leon Thomason; one grandchild, Haven Thomason; and four siblings, Dan Schweer, Larry Schweer, Brian Matthewson, and Mary Baron.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brown-Cumings Funeral home to assist with final expenses.
