Grant Monro Buxton, age 75, passed away on June 15th in Ft. Worth, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication. He was born on December 12, 1949, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Lee and Zelma Buxton. Grant was the beloved father, a cherished brother, a proud grandfather, and a friend to many. Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Zelma Buxton; his wife, Machelle; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Oswalt; and his brother, James Lee Buxton. He is survived by his daughters, Evie Strunk and her husband Matt of Cypress, Texas, and Kyla Hill and her husband Howard of Scottsdale, Arizona; his brother, Haney Lee Buxton and his wife Deborah of Lewisville, Texas; his stepdaughters, Melanie Novads of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Lindsay Easler and husband David of Ellenboro, North Carolina; and nine grandchildren who brought him immense joy. A proud graduate of Enid High School in 1968, Grant was an accomplished athlete, excelling in both swimming and baseball. After high school, he attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he laid the foundation for his career and life ahead. In 1971, Grant married Donna Dahlem and together they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Evie and Kyla.
In the years that followed Grant married Machelle moved to Ft. Worth and started his own business, Buxton's Appliance and Repair in Ft. Worth, which became a great success. He was a hardworking and determined individual; known for his strong work ethic and his ability to build lasting relationships with those he served.
Grant was a lifelong sports enthusiast. He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. His passion for sports was matched only by his love for golf and fishing, activities he loved to do during his free time. For many years, he enjoyed taking his children on a yearly ski trip, a tradition that created lasting memories.
Though Grant is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the love he shared with his family and the many lives he touched.
Rest in peace, Grant. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
