The Homegoing Services Celebrating and Honoring the life of Inez Marie Phillips, 86, of Enid will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday May 15, 2021 in the First Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Norwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Wannamaker Cemetery. Services under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Inez was born February 23, 1935 to Henry L. and Mary (Wilson) Haley in Dover, Oklahoma and passed from this life May 7, 2021 in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Dover. She married Nathaniel Phillips in 1959 from that union came eight children. The family made their home in Enid where she worked at the Youngblood Hotel, Villa Madonna Hospital, and the Enid State School, she loved to work and never missed a day. She enjoyed going to church at First Missionary Baptist and always donated faithfully to the church and March of Dimes. Hosting gatherings brought her great joy. She attended the Senior Network at Booker T. Washington and was always very active with her “Kids” at the Enid State School.
She is survived by seven children Jean Bell, of Enid, Nathaniel Phillips Jr, of Enid, Annetta Phillips, of Enid, Cindy Phillips and Larry Mitchell, of Enid, Lois Phillips, of Oklahoma City, Rodney Phillips, of Enid, and Lisa Hampton, of Enid; and one sister Mary Kinslow, of LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two children Stanley Phillips and Elizabeth Phillips Butler; five brothers and one sister.
