Michael John Pitts, lovingly known as “Mike,” passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 69. Mike was born on September 17, 1955, in Roswell, New Mexico, and lived a life devoted to his family, faith, and community.

After moving to Enid to care for his widowed aunt, Mike met the love of his life, Beth, and they married on August 10, 1979, building a life and family together for the next 45 years.

Mike was a proud and loving father to his daughter Amanda Summers and son Chris Pitts. He was a devoted grandfather to Britney and Dailen Bassham, Riley Summers, Kenzie Summers, Brantley Summers, and Emma Pitts. Each of his children and grandchildren brought him great pride and joy throughout his life.

Mike’s career reflected his strong work ethic and kind spirit. He spent 21 years working at Oklahoma Glass and Wallpaper and another 18 years at Central Machine and Tool. However, one of his favorite roles was serving as a crosswalk guard for Coolidge Elementary School in Enid, where he loved greeting children each day with a smile and a wave.

A man of deep faith, Mike was a devoted member of Bible Baptist Church in Enid. His life was a quiet testament to kindness, service, and loyalty to those he loved.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife Beth Pitts; his daughter Amanda Summers; his son Chris Pitts and daughter-in-law Amanda Pitts; his cherished grandchildren Britney and Dailen Bassham, Riley Summers, Kenzie Summers, Brantley Summers, and Emma Pitts; his brothers Doug and Jerriann Pitts, Rick and Colleen Pitts, and David Pitts; and many nieces and nephews he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Glida Pitts and one Grandson Bentley Summers.

Mike’s gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
