The services celebrating and honoring the life of Mojina Mote, 81, of Enid will be held 1:00 P.M Thursday November 11, 2021 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with services following at 3:30 P.M. in the Marshallese Assembly of God church. Graveside service will take place 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 13, 2021 in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Mojina has 4 brothers and 4 sisters, all were born to Jinuna Jablotok and Mojin Bani. Mojina was born on February 14, 1940, Majuro Atoll in the Marshal Islands. She was born few days before the World War II began in the Marshall Islands. She quietly departed this life, October 22, 2021, in Enid surrounded by her family.
She married Jebet Mote when both were in teenage years. The couple made their home on Aelonlaplap atoll during their first years of marriage, later, they moved to Majuro Atoll where they raised their 14 children. She moved to Enid in 2009 to be near her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and considered a pioneer to the church during the establishment in the Marshall Islands. Her husband passed in 1993 and since then, she played a role of a single parent till her passing.
Their oldest son, Obet Mote, passed few years ago from multiple health issues. She was survived by Elma Harry, Emil Mote, Rosita Kinere, Langidrik Mote, Rosie Konou, Jimmy Mote, Elsie Thomas, Mote Mote, Morson Mote, Terry Mote, Elmar Mote, Rosma Lokboj, and Helpy Mote. Mojina and Jebet adopted the following grandkids as their own, Neil Mote, Dalton Mote and Natalia Jorbon. Mojina has over 90 grandchildren with more names uncounted.
Mojina loved meeting people and telling her jokes. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, grandchildren, families and friends.
