We are deeply saddened to inform you of the sudden passing of Nancy Carol Chodrick on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 72.

Nancy was born in Pittsfield, Illinois, on July 15, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Betty Eisele and had six siblings: Molly Troxel (husband Bob); Amy Rule (husband Rick); Anita Overton; Gary Eisele (wife Lisa); Lorene Lieurance (late husband, Jim); and her late sister, Sally Berg.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mandy Chodrick-Wilson and Jennifer Chodrick-Baker and her husband James, and one son, Gabriel Chodrick. She had six grandchildren: Brylyn Adams and her husband Tyler, Gavin Wilson, Lexy Wilson, Paxton Baker, Lincoln Baker, and Greyson Chodrick. She also had three great-grandchildren: Wyatt Byrd, Bennett Adams, and Foster Adams.

Nancy grew up in Enid, Oklahoma, and graduated from Enid High School, Class of 1970. She spent most of her career working as the Court Clerk for the City of Enid and retired in 2020 after more than 25 years of dedicated service to her community. She loved her job, and it gave her much fulfillment and purpose.

She also remained active in her community through organizations such as Enid AMBUCS and the Daughters of the American Revolution. With a humble and selfless nature, she was always looking for ways to serve others.

As a masterful seamstress, Nancy designed and created countless articles of clothing for her family and friends. These included custom Halloween costumes, prom dresses, matching groomsmen’s vests and ties for Jennifer’s wedding, everyday garments, and countless repairs and alterations to improve fit. God only knows how much money we saved thanks to her countless hours of service to family and friends in this way. We are all deeply grateful to you, Nancy, for the wonderful things you created for us—treasures we will keep and cherish for a lifetime.

Nancy’s sweet and laid-back personality made her easy to get along with. She was never bothered by the small things that may trouble the rest of us. For example, when her grandchildren ran around the house being rambunctious and making messes, Nancy would just watch the madness unfold with a sweet smile on her face and say, “Oh, that’s okay. I’ll clean the mess up later.” In these ways, she always made us feel loved and welcomed in her home.

Her favorite pastime was simply spending quality time with her family and friends. She was an exceptional cook and baker, always preparing delicious dishes for holidays and gatherings. She also spent much time and intent on making sure everyone received the coolest and most unique Christmas gifts every year.

She was an enthusiastic fan of OU football, attending many home games and never missing one on TV—always surrounded by loved ones, cheering on the Sooners. (Boomer Sooner!) With the OKC Thunder rolling into town, she also became a dedicated basketball fan (Thunder Up!).

Nancy cherished beach vacations, whether at lakes or oceans, where she could bask in the sun, wade in the water, help her grandkids build sandcastles, and write their names in the sand. Over the last 10+ summers of her life, our family made many trips to various coasts—moments that created lasting memories and brought her great joy.

Nancy maintained close friendships throughout her life and treasured the many experiences she shared with her lifelong friends. She loved attending pool parties and lake house getaways with Karen Pollet and Susie Crawford. All three were members of House of Grace Church in Enid and enjoyed lunch together every Sunday after the service.

Her friend Lana Ellis fondly recalls a glimpse of Nancy’s more mischievous side: at age 16, they took Nancy’s grandmother’s beautiful red car out of town without permission. Despite having a strict curfew, Nancy drove all the way to Hennessey to pick up boys. By the grace of God, they made it back just in time for curfew—but we won’t say how fast Nancy had to drive.

We all have a wild side, and we all fall short of the glory of God. But that’s the beauty of life—we are meant to learn from our mistakes, grow wise through life’s experiences, and share that wisdom with those we love. Alongside her friends, Nancy fulfilled this purpose with kindness, compassion, and understanding. In doing so, she became the most loving, nurturing, and sweet mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and dear friend that life could have ever given us.

Above all, Nancy loved God, who gave her the gift of life and the purpose of creating the amazing and loving family that surrounded her until her passing. She also maintained a positive and respectful relationship with her ex-husband, Charles Chodrick, and his wife Brenda. Together, they set an important example for their children and the extended family they built:

No matter how many different directions the world may pull us, we must remain connected—united as one.

God placed us on this Earth to form meaningful connections. This is what draws us closer to Him and teaches us how to cultivate our own relationships with the Lord. Nancy taught us this lesson with grace and quiet strength.

This is the true essence of Nancy’s spirit. She wanted nothing more than to maintain a positive connection with everyone in her life. She will be sorely missed—but we know we will see her beautiful spirit again when we are finally united in our Father’s Kingdom.

We love you, Nancy. You will forever remain in our hearts and spirits. And through God, we will remain in yours.
