Nguyen “Kim” J. Cardin was born September 9, 1934, to Tkey Thi Nguyen and Lung T Meo Midno in Meto Province of Vietnam and passed from this life October 16, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She grew up on a plantation with her three sisters and one brother until their parents passed away from a disease when she was ten years old. She then was raised by relatives until she was sixteen. She then went on to begin working various jobs including being a nanny for a lawyer.

She met Stanley Cardin while working on the military post where he was stationed. The couple fell in love and wanted to get married in Vietnam however the Army would not approve. The couple hired a Vietnamese lawyer who assisted them with getting Kim her Passport and Visa to America.

Kim came to America five months after Stanley was discharged and traveled to the United States by herself. She and Stanley were married December 30, 1970, in San Jose, California. The couple then moved to Marshall, Oklahoma where she was a member of the Marshall Women’s Club with Angie Debo and others. In 1978 the couple moved to Enid where they made their home. Although they loved children, they were never blessed with any of their own. She often cared for her friends’ children and loved them as her own.

She enjoyed fishing, raising flowers, and gardening, She loved to watch Kung Fu, Matlock and other action movies.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Kitty Coffman and husband Jim and several friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Cardin, her parents, and her four siblings.
