Thorinda "Joan" Stark

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Thorinda “Joan” (Thompson) Stark, 71, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday June 13, 2026 in the Brown-Cummings Chapel with Chaplain Gary Miller officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.

Joan was born February 6, 1955 to Henry and Agnes Marie (Spotts) Thompson in Winter, South Dakota and passed from this life June 8, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Presho, South Dakota where she attended school and graduated with the class of 1974. She then worked at a local truck stop café. She moved to Enid 1980 to be near her family. She soon met James “Jim” Stark on a blind date; the couple was married January 30, 1982. The couple owned and operated T and O Trucking where she managed all of the books and finances until their retirement in 2010. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, knitting, crocheting, hunting, fishing and spending time in her “Hobby House”.

She is survived by her husband, James Stark, of the home; her children, Bobby Stark, Tamara Woodington and husband Chris, Sheryl Shearer, Debbie Scott and husband Michael, and Thomas Kennington; fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild, one sister Sue and one brother Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Marie Thompson and two siblings, Carmen and Kay.
