The services celebrating and honoring the life of Villa June Goodson, 79, of Enid, will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday April 4, 2026, in the Freedom Worship Center, Thomas, Oklahoma with Pastor Jerry Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Fay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Villa was born June 4, 1946, to Villa Cecil “VC” Goodson and Marjorie Jean Boyd in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed from this life March 26, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated throughout the United states following her father’s career her family moved to Watonga, Oklahoma in 1958 where she graduated from Fay High School in 1964. She then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964 and honorably served her country until 1966. Upon her honorable discharge she returned to Oklahoma and worked as a Civil Service Secretary and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After college she returned to Thomas, Oklahoma and began working at the United States Post Office where she made her lifelong career until the time of her retirement in 2001. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing, dancing, time spent with her Saturday Sisters, reading her Bible and spreading the gospel. She was a member of the World Harvest Church, Enid, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her children David Jackson and wife Toni, of Enid and Janet Dunaway, of Enid; four grandchildren, Cynthia Wagner, Taylor Bowling, Dylan Seitter, and Trent Dunaway, and six great grandchildren Aiden, Mila, Natalia, Alessi, Holland, and Nathan; one brother, Emmett Goodson and his wife Peggy and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father V.C. Goodson, her mother, Marjorie Goodson, her sisters, Marjorie “Norma”, and Francis “Sissy”; and one nephew Ricky Gene Suit.
